Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

17 413 Japanese people were studied for 5 years. These results, for coffee, have also been shown in U.S. men for coffee and diabetes.

Those who drank more than 6 cups of green tea per day had a 33 percent lower risk of diabetes than those who drank less than one cup weekly.

Those who drank more than 3 cups of coffee per day had a 42 percent lower risk of diabetes than those who drank less than one cup weekly.

The estimated caffeine content was 153 mg per cup (170 mL) of coffee and 30 mg per cup (200 mL) of green tea.

Diabetes is costly: $132b U.S., and $92b U.S. of that is the drugs paid for and prescribed. What if you could drink tea or coffee, using food as medicine?
